Ukraine to found the FAO regional office

The Ukrainian government plans to found the regional office of Food and Agriculture Organization in Ukraine, declared the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Igor Schwayka on April 23, 2014.

I.Schwayka stated the cooperation with FAO is one of the foreign economic activity priority areas and the major factor of the food strategy formation.

The FAO Regional Representative for Europe and Central Asia, Vladimir Rakhmanin confirmed that the Organization is ready to cooperate actively with Ukraine.

V.Rakhmanin added that Ukraine is one of the major partners for FAO. The program “FAO-Ukraine” to become the Ukrainian national interests' representation in the food sector. V.Rakhmanin mentioned that FAO will provide the maximum support in order to bring the Ukrainian commodities to the European standards and promote the stated commodities' entrance on the EU and the global food markets.

At the same time, I.Schwayka added that Ukraine is interested in the cooperation extension with FAO.
