Crimea: 90% of winter wheat areas were in satisfactory condition
According to the polling of agricultural producers, realized by experts of APK-Inform Agency, nearly 80-90% of winter wheat planted areas in the Crimea were in satisfactory condition.
According to the respondents, the grain came into the flowering period, so at the moment the areas need precipitations for further development of plants. At the same time, agrarians noted that the region faced dry weather conditions, precipitations were absent since the third decade of April 2014, which may have a negative impact on qualitative indices of the grain, and production volumes of the harvest.
According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, the planted areas of winter wheat for the harvest-2014 in the Crimea total 279.2 thsd ha.
