Russia increased the grain stocks by 3.3% - Rosstat

As of May 1, 2014 in Russia the stocks of grain at agricultural, procurement and processing organizations totaled 15.6 mln tonnes, up 3.3% (0.5 mln tonnes) compared to the rate of the same date of 2013, declared Rosstat.

Thus, the agricultural organizations faced the grain stocks' increase by 13.5% (1 mln tonnes) – to 8.3 mln tonnes, compared to the rate of the same period of 2013. At the same time, at the procurement and processing organizations the stated rate totaled 7.3 mln tonnes, down 6.2% (0.5 mln tonnes) compared to the rate of May 1, 2013.

In particular, wheat stocks at the procurement and processing organizations reached 4.85 mln tonnes (-7.7%), including 3.9 mln tonnes of milling wheat (-5.8%).

As of the reporting date, rye stocks increased by 8.6% - to 515 thsd tonnes, including 409 thsd tonnes of milling rye.

At the same time barley stocks faced a decrease of 7.3% - to 862 thsd tonnes, maize – 2.7% - to 797 thsd tonnes. Meanwhile, rice stocks decreased by 62.4% (to 26 thsd tonnes), panicum – by 36.6% (to 18 thsd tonnes), buckwheat – by 14.8% (to 48 thsd tonnes).

At the same time, there was oat stocks' increase by 52.7% - to 146 thsd tonnes.
