In 2014/15 MY Ukrainian flour millers plan to supply 320-350 thsd tonnes of wheat and rye flour on foreign markets, an increase of 42.2-55.6% compared with 2013/14 MY, declared Andrei Yakovenko, Director of SE Novopokrovsky Bakery Products Plant, Co-Chairman of Flour Millers of Ukraine, on July 17.
According to him, increasing of the exports was caused by growing of flour sales to the markets of Israel, Moldova, Syria and others, and intensification of flour trading with the European Union.
Previously, the EU protected its market with the customs duty of 9 EUR/t for flour. But after signing of the Association Agreement the duties are canceled, said A.Yakovenko.
According to him, such measures will allow Ukrainian flour producers to export nearly 30 thsd tonnes of flour on the EU market in 2014/15 MY.
A.Yakovenko added that in 2013/14 MY Ukraine produced 2.7 mln tonnes of flour and exported 225-229 thsd tonnes of flour.
