As of August 1, 2014, agricultural enterprises (excluding small-scale ones), and grain storage and processing enterprises in Ukraine stocked 20.9 mln tonnes of grains (including 14.1 mln tonnes of wheat, 4.3 mln tonnes of barley, 1.6 mln tonnes of maize, 0.3 mln tonnes of rye), a decrease of 0.1% compared with the same date in 2013, reported the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
Directly agrarian companies stored 13.8 mln tonnes of grains (up 0.9%), including 9.2 mln tonnes of wheat, 2.8 mln tonnes of barley, 1 mln tonnes of maize, 0.1 mln tonnes of rye.
As of August 1, sunflower seed carry-over stocks totaled 0.8 mln tonnes, up 79% compared with the same date in 2013. According to the statistics data, directly agricultural enterprises (excluding small ones) stored 0.3 mln tonnes of the oilseed, up 19% compared with August 1, 2013; but the enterprises engaged in processing and storage of sunflower seed – 0.5 mln tonnes (up 2.6 times).
