In August 2014 the export volumes of Russian grains may reach 3.9-4 mln tonnes, which would become the record monthly index of grain foreign shipments for the country, forecasted Igor Pavensky, Deputy Director of the strategic management department of Rusagrotrans CJSC, on August 20.

The expert reminded that previously his forecast for August totaled nearly 3.6 mln tonnes, but taking into account the high rates of grain shipments through the deep-sea ports, the estimation of grain exports in August increased to 3.9-4 mln tonnes.

Also, I.Pavensky noted that since the beginning of the month and as of August 18, the volume of grain export shipment through the deep-sea ports of the Russian Federation totaled 1.07 mln tonnes, which significantly exceeded the reporting period index in the record 2011/12 MY (585 thsd tonnes).

The expert added that the general volume of applications for grain shipment through the deep-sea ports in August 2014 total 1.915 mln tonnes, up 35% compared with the rates of August 2013.
