Egypt added Russia and Ukraine to the list of countries supplying wheat with the traces of ergot fungus, declared the Head of the Plant Pathology Research Institute and a member of the special inspection committee at the Ministry of Agriculture, Ashraf Khalil on September 7.
According to him, the reporting list was revised after the officials discovered ergot traces in wheat batches supplied from some regions of the above mentioned countries.
As a reminder, in late August 2016 Egypt imposed the ban on the ergot content in wheat cargoes shipped to the country.
