In 2017/18 MY, Russia will manage to completely cover its domestic grain needs and keep the country's export potential, announced the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev on August 8.

According to him, during several recent years Russia significantly increased its capacities in grains and pulses production, raised the planted areas under grains, and it allows producing record harvest volumes. In the current year, the weather conditions were rather difficult, but the officials expect that the harvested crop volumes will completely close all our domestic needs of the country and provide the required export potential — for foreign exchange earnings for agricultural producers and a variety of other tasks.
