According to forecasts of the International Grains Council (IGC), in 2017/18 MY the general harvest of grain crops in the CIS countries will total nearly 214.6 mln tonnes, as opposed to 226.9 mln tonnes last season, reported World Grain.

Russia will produce the major share of the reporting volumes - 108.4 mln tonnes, followed by Ukraine - 62.3 mln tonnes, and Kazakhstan - 13.3 mln tonnes. In particular, the harvest of Russian wheat will total nearly 67 mln tonnes, Ukrainian wheat - 24.5 mln tonnes, Kazakh wheat - 13.3 mln tonnes.

The general harvest of corn in CIS countries will total 48.2 mln tonnes, including 15.4 mln tonnes of the grain in Russia, and 28.5 mln tonnes of the Ukrainian grain. The general harvest volumes of barley will total 31.6 mln tonnes, including 17.1 mln tonnes in Russia, and 7.8 mln tonnes - Ukraine.
