Since the beginning of 2017/18 MY (July 1), and as of October 30, the exports of Russian grains and its by-products from broke a record and reached 19.5 mln tonnes, and increase of 3.8 mln tonnes (or up 24%) compared with the same period last season, reported the Federal State-Funded Institution "Federal Centre of Quality and Safety Assurance for Grain and Grain products" on November 2.

In particular, the wheat exports totaled 13.7 mln tonnes (up 23% compared with the first 4 months of 2016/17 MY), barley - 2.6 mln tonnes (up 66%), corn - 1.2 mln tonnes (up 14%).

It should be noted that some basic items already exceeded the export volumes of the first 5 months of the season-2016/17: barley (2.6 mln tonnes during 4 months of 2017/18 MY, against 1.7 mln tonnes during 5 months of 2016/17 MY), peas (558 thsd tonnes, against 392 thsd tonnes), as well as soybeans (191 thsd tonnes, against 103 thsd tonnes) and rapeseed (79 thsd tonnes, against 41 thsd tonnes). But wheat failed to make a new export record, and the volumes totaled 13.73 mln tonnes only, against 13.85 mln tonnes during 5 months last season.
