In 2017, the general harvest of wheat in Russia will reach 82 mln tonnes in clean weight, declared the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Alexander Tkachev on November 7.
According to him, 82 mln tonnes will become a record, because it is rather high decent figure. As for the prospects of purchasing interventions on the grain market, A.Tkachev noted that the Ministry will consider the issue after zeroing of railway tariffs for grain transportation from remote regions to the ports.
Zeroing of railway tariffs will allow shipping grains from the distant regions to the southern port facilities, and remove surplus grain volumes from the market. If the market requires direct purchasing interventions, the government will start developing the direction, the Minister added.
