In January-October of 2017, the seaports of Russia increased the shipment volumes of grains by 31.3% compared with the same period last year - to 37 mln tonnes, announced the Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport on November 10.
In particular, the ports increased mineral fertilizers transshipment by 8.8%, to 14.3 mln tonnes.
The general cargo turnover in the Russian seaports grew by 9.3% compared with the same period in 2016, and totaled 649.5 mln tonnes.
According to the announcement, the export cargo shipment reached 500.6 mln tonnes, up 6.9% compared with January-October of last year, imports – 29.6 mln tonnes (up 14%), transit – 47.7 mln tonnes (up 15.4%), and coastal freight – 71.4 mln tonnes (up 21.9%).
