For 13 recent years, the general processing capacities of soybeans in Ukraine increased in 4.3 times – from 800 thsd tonnes in 2005, to 3.4 mln tonnes in 2017, declared the President at the Ukrainian Association of producers and processors of soya, Viktor Tymchenko during his report at the conference "Ukrainian soybeans: organic and traditional", on February 21.

According to him, the upward trend developed due to the dynamic growth of the harvest volumes, which in 2017 reached 3.89 mln tonnes, as opposed to 232 thsd tonnes only in 2003.

Also, increasing of the number of farms cultivating the oilseed in 2.8 times – from 3768 in 2005 to 10457 in 2017, confirmed the observed growth of interest of Ukrainian agrarians in soybeans production.

In the reporting period, the number of registered varieties of soybeans in Ukraine increased in 2.9 times – from 72 to 210. In particular, the figures of domestic selection varieties increased in 2 times (from 64 to 125), but foreign selection varieties – up 10.6 times (from 8 to 85), said V.Tymchenko.
