Russia: in January-February, the seaports shipped nearly 7 mln tonnes of grains – Association of Sea Commercial Ports

In January-February of 2018, the seaports of Russia increased the shipment volumes of grains by 52% compared with the same period last year – to 6.8 mln tonnes, announced the Association of Sea Commercial Ports of the Russian Federation on March 13.

In particular, the ports decreased mineral fertilizers transshipment by 8.5%, to 2.9 mln tonnes.

The general cargo turnover in the Russian seaports grew by 4.4% compared with the same period in 2017, and totaled 121.7 mln tonnes.

According to the announcement, the export cargo shipment reached 94.8 mln tonnes, up 2.7% compared with the last year figures, imports – 5.5 mln tonnes (up 13.5%), transit – 10.1 mln tonnes (up 18.1%), and coastal freight – 11.3 mln tonnes (up 4.1%).
