According to the Customs Control Committee at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in February 2018 Kazakhstan exported 11.4 thsd tonnes of pulses, which became the maximum figures for the reporting month.

In February, lentils became the main exported pulses, which shipment volumes reached 8.7 thsd tonnes, including 96% (8.3 thsd tonnes) shipped to Turkey. As for the exports of peas, in February the supplied volumes decreased by 27% compared with January, and totaled 2.7 thsd tonnes. Afghanistan (1.1 thsd tonnes) became the main importer of Kazakh peas.

For 8 months of the current MY (July-February), Kazakhstan supplied 77.3 thsd tonnes of pulses on foreign markets (up 14% compared with the corresponding period in 2016/17 MY), which provided the prospect of record export volumes in the season.

At the same time, since the beginning of the season the shipments of lentils from Kazakhstan reached 56.1 thsd tonnes (up 9%), and peas — 19.2 thsd tonnes (up 30%).
