As of May 17, Kazakh agrarians planted spring spiked grain crops throughout 1.352 mln ha, or 9.6% of the planned areas, reported the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan. At the same time, all oblasts of the country already started planting spring grains.

Thus, Akmola oblast planted grains throughout 149.8 thsd ha (3.5%), Aktobe oblast — 82.5 thsd ha (103.9%), Almaty oblast — 245.5 thsd ha (102.3%), East Kazakhstan oblast — 152.1 thsd ha (25.8%), Jambyl oblast — 160.5 thsd ha (102.3%), West Kazakhstan oblast — 85.6 thsd ha (45.5%), Karaganda oblast — 99.1 thsd ha (12%), Kostanay oblast — 124 thsd ha (3.1%), Kyzylorda oblast — 2.6 thsd ha (81.3%), Pavlodar oblast — 18.5 thsd ha (2.4%), North Kazakhstan oblast — 190 thsd ha (7.1%), and South Kazakhstan oblast — 42 thsd ha (100%).

In addition, Kazakh agrarians planted corn for grain throughout 95.8 thsd ha (61.9%), rice — 55.9 thsd ha (58.4%), and sugar beet — 19.4 thsd ha (88.9%).

Also, as of the reporting date agrarians planted oilseeds throughout 664.5 thsd ha (26.4%) from the plan of 2.516 mln ha.
