In January-March of 2018, Azerbaijan increased wheat imports by 54.7%, compared with the same period in 2017, declared the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Also, in the reporting period the country increased the imports of vegetable oils (up 37.3%), sugar (up 78.6%), beef (up 29.8%), poultry meat and edible offal (up 12.3%), as well as butter and other dairy products (up 5.4%).
In addition, in January-March of 2018 Azerbaijan increased its exports of vegetable oils by 20.4%, sugar — up 47.5%, margarine and other food additives — up 21.2%.
Generally, in the first quarter of 2018 the foreign trade turnover of Azerbaijan totaled 6.895 bln USD, including the exports — 4.704 bln USD, and the imports — 2.191 bln USD.
