China is ready to increase the quotas for Kazakh wheat supplies to 500 thsd tonnes in 2019, and to 1 mln tonnes in 2020, declared the Deputy Director of the State Administration of Grain (SAG) of China, Zeng Liying in Astana on May 31, during a meeting with the Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, Umirzak Shukeev.

Moreover, the Chinese party proposed to distribute the specified quota among members of the domestic grain market of China, because to date the state-owned company COFCO keeps 95% of the supplies.

Also, the parties discussed other opportunities for cooperation in the grain sector between Kazakhstan and China.
