In May 2018, APK-Inform analysts adjusted the supply & demand balances of oilseed crops and its by-products in Kazakhstan in the current MY, increased the forecast for sunflower seed processing and reduced the figures for flaxseed.
The reporting changes developed, due to the production rates of sunflower and flaxseed oils. According to APK-Inform estimations, in the season-2017/18 the production volumes of the oils will total 231 thsd tonnes (up 2% compared with the previous forecast) and 26.5 thsd tonnes (down 15%), respectively.
Also, the forecast of flaxseed oil exports reduced by 20%, and reached 16 thsd tonnes. APK-Inform did not change the forecast for sunflower oil exports.
