According to the Customs Control Committee at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in May 2018 the exports of wheat from the country totaled 442.9 thsd tonnes, an increase of 7.4% compared with the previous month, and up 25% compared with May 2017. Traditionally, in the reporting month Uzbekistan (196.6 thsd tonnes) and Tajikistan (99.4 thsd tonnes) were the main buyers of the Kazakh grain.
For 11 months of 2017/18 MY (July-May), the general shipments of Kazakh wheat on foreign markets reached 4.5 mln tonnes, up 34% compared with the same period of the previous season.
At the same time, in May 2018 the exports of flour totaled 161.9 thsd tonnes, against 137.6 thsd tonnes in the previous month. Generally, for 11 months of 2017/18 MY Kazakhstan exported 2.2 mln tonnes of flour, up 7% compared with July-May of the previous season.
