According to the monthly figures of APK-Inform, in August the total volume of grain exported from Russia via river and seaports totaled 3.15 mln tonnes which is almost corresponds with the previous month (3.09 mln tonnes).
In particular, wheat export increased by 11% to 2.7 mln tonnes. At the same time, barley export declined by 34% to 279 thsd tonnes, and corn – by 39% to 126 thsd tonnes.
The Novorossiysk port took the leading position in wheat export volumes (1.5 mln tonnes) and barley (120 thsd tonnes). The largest volumes of corn were shipped via port Olya (38 thsd tonnes).
The main importers of Russian grain in August were Egypt (655 thsd tonnes), Turkey (391 thsd tonnes) and Nigeria (190 thsd tonnes).
