For the first 8 months of 2018, the transshipment volumes of grain cargoes from the seaports of Ukraine decreased by 9.5% compared with the same period last year, and totaled 23.54 mln tonnes, declared the State Enterprise Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA).
In particular, the export shipments of grains decreased in even more significant way — down 11.4%, to 22.52 mln tonnes. Also, in January-August of 2018 the transit shipments in the Ukrainian ports almost doubled — to 401 thsd tonnes, against 216.7 thsd tonnes for 8 months of 2017.
At the same time, the domestic transportation of grain cargoes significantly increased by 65.9% — to 614.35 thsd tonnes.
