According to APK-Inform forecasts, in 2018/19 MY Ukraine has the good potential to increase the production of all types of vegetable oils and oilseed meals — both sunflower, soybean and rapeseed types. First of all, the trend will develop, due to the expected growth of sunflower seed processing by 10% compared with last year, soybeans — up 20%, and rapeseed — up 2.5 times.
Thus, in the current season the production volumes of sunflower oil will total 6.4 mln tonnes (up 12%), and sunflower meal/cake — 5.7 mln tonnes (up 9%). The reporting figures will break its records for Ukraine.
In terms of the increased production volumes, Ukraine will respectively increase the export supplies of the reporting products, which forms a number of advantages and good prospects for the further shipments, especially in terms of the reduced potential of Russia for the exports of sunflower by-products.
Due to some changes in the tax liabilities regarding the exports of soybeans, the domestic processing of the oilseed will become more attractive for companies, and reach the historical maximum level of 1.5 mln tonnes. Therefore, the forecast of soybean oil production totals 255 thsd tonnes, and soybean meal/cake — 1.1 mln tonnes.
Also, in 2018/19 MY the production of rapeseed by-products will almost reach the record level. In particular, the production of rapeseed oil will total 150 thsd tonnes, and rapeseed meal/cake — 190 thsd tonnes.
