In the first 3 months of 2018/19 MY, Russia exported 16.2 mln tonnes of grain crops, an increase of 29% (3.6 mln tonnes) compared with the same period last season, reported the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) on October 18.

In particular, in the reporting period Russia significantly increased the shipments of rye — up almost 5 times, to 110.91 thsd tonnes, against 23.76 thsd tonnes in the same period last year. In July-September, Russia shipped the largest volumes of the grain to Latvia — 88.99 thsd tonnes, and Belarus — 14.05 thsd tonnes.

The exports of oats increased in almost 4 times — from 2.61 thsd tonnes, to 10.12 thsd tonnes. Russia provided the largest shipments to Pakistan — 5.48 thsd tonnes, Kazakhstan — 1.95 thsd tonnes, and Belarus — 1.35 thsd tonnes.

The supplies of triticale increased in 3.5 times, and totaled 2.13 thsd tonnes. At the same time, if in the first quarter of last season Russia shipped the grain to Belarus only (0.61 thsd tonnes), but in the current season Russia exported triticale to Belarus (2.11 thsd tonnes) and Kazakhstan (0.02 thsd tonnes).

As for wheat, Russia increased the exports by over 4 mln tonnes in comparison with the same period last year — to 13.8 mln tonnes.
