According to the Customs Control Committee at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in the season-2017/18 the supplies of Kazakh vegetable oils on foreign markets totaled 145.7 thsd tonnes, an increase of 1.8 times compared with the figures in 2016/17 MY. Such volumes became the historic-scale record for the exports of the products.
In particular, sunflower oil dominated in the structure of vegetable oils exports, which shipment reached 66.2 thsd tonnes (45% of the general supply of all types of oils), against 37 thsd tonnes in the previous MY. China was the main buyer of Kazakh sunflower oil, and imported 32 thsd tonnes of the product. Also, Uzbekistan (16.8 thsd tonnes) and Tajikistan (14.6 thsd tonnes) purchased significant volumes of the product.
In addition, in the reporting season the exports of flaxseed oil demonstrated the significant upward trend. So, in 2017/18 MY the foreign shipments of Kazakh flaxseed oil reached 21.2 thsd tonnes, up 51% compared with the previous season. China purchased almost the whole volumes of the product.
