In September 2018, Kazakhstan exported 376.8 thsd tonnes of wheat, which became the maximum figures for the reporting month for 5 recent seasons. Traditionally, Uzbekistan became the main country-importer, which imported 114.8 thsd tonnes of the grain, reported the Customs Control Committee at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
According to APK-Inform analysts, Georgia also increased its purchases of Kazakh wheat. So, in September 2018 Kazakhstan supplied 29.8 thsd tonnes of the grain to the country, which exceeded the export volumes from Kazakhstan to Georgia for the whole 2017/18 MY.
In addition, in the reporting month Spain imported significant volumes of wheat (11.2 thsd tonnes), and entered the TOP-10 buyers of the Kazakh grain.
As for China, the supplies to the country slightly decreased after the August maximum level (86.8 thsd tonnes), and totaled 21.5 thsd tonnes only.
