According to data by APK-Inform Agency, in the period September-October of 2018/19 MY Ukraine exported the minimum volumes of soybeans for the last 5 seasons.

The volumes shipped for two months of the current season totaled nearly 140 thsd tonnes which twice lower year-on-year.

“The main reason for the export decline was the low demand from the EU: for the reporting period Ukraine exported nearly 2.2 thsd tonnes of soybeans compared to 108.5 thsd tonnes for the same period last season. The EU countries decreased the import of soybeans from South America and Ukraine in favor of cheaper North American oilseed” – explained the analyst of APK-Inform Agency Julia Ivanitskaya.

Herewith, Ukraine increased its soybean export to Turkey, Belarus, Azerbaijan and others.

The analyst estimates the soybeans export potential of Ukraine in 2018/19 MY at 2.43 mln tonnes (down 11% year-on-year).
