In Kazakhstan, the general annual capacities of plants for oilseed processing totaled 2.6 mln tonnes, but to date their workload totaled 31% only, declared the President at the Association Fat-and-Oil Union of Kazakhstan, Konstantin Nevzorov during his report within frames of the second international fat-and-oil conference KazOil 2018 in Astana, on November 28.

According to the expert, the situation developed, due to the deficit of domestic raw materials of the required range and quality, as well as small-scale supply volumes on the domestic market. In addition, oil-producing plants can not work with raw materials, grown in quarantine zones.

Also, the deficit of floating capital for purchasing of agricultural raw materials is one of the most important reasons which slow down the oilseed processing industry of Kazakhstan. In addition, there is a lack of the required infrastructure for storage of oilseed crops. At the same time, high railway tariffs affect the exports of the finished goods, K.Nevzorov added.

According to the President of the Association, Kazakhstan has the great opportunity to increase the production of vegetable oils, in terms of the full loading of the processing capacities, because it has the good export potential of fat-and-oil products on the markets of Central Asia and China.
