The Russian seaports decreased grain export volumes by nearly 20%
According to the weekly monitoring reports by APK-Inform Agency, in the period of March 8-14, 2019, the export volumes of major grains from the Russian sea and river ports reached 479 thsd tonnes, a decrease of 18% compared with the previous week volumes (581 thsd tonnes, taking into account the updated figures).
In particular, the shipments of wheat declined by 9% compared to previous week and totaled 439 thsd tonnes. The shipment of corn totaled 34 thsd tonnes (-53%) and barley – 6 thsd tonnes (-74%).
In the reporting period, Egypt (163 thsd tonnes), Turkey (110 thsd tonnes), and Bangladesh (59 thsd tonnes) were the TOP-3 of countries-importers of Russian grains.
Since the beginning of the current MY (July 1) Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port became the leader of grain foreign shipments — 12.6 mln tonnes. The port Kavkaz took the second position with its shipment volumes at 9.4 mln tonnes, and JSC Taman Seaport took the third position — 2.7 mln tonnes.
