In January 2019 Russia declined export of wheat by 2.5% - Rosstat




In January 2019 Russia shipped to the foreign markets 3.115 mln tonnes of cereals, which is 2.7% lower compared the same month last year, informed Rosstat on March 20.

The export of wheat and meslin declined by 2.5% to 2.417 mln tonnes. Also, Russia decreased export of corn to 264 thsd tonnes (-34.6%).

At the same time, in January the country increased the export of barley – by 27.6% to 366 thsd tonnes, rice – in 2.4 times to 20.3 thsd tonnes, wheat flour and wheat-rye flour – by 51.1% to 29.3 thsd tonnes, and sunflower seeds – by 52.3% to 10.7 thsd tonnes.
