The Ministry of Agriculture of Russian has not yet rejected the idea to create new union of Russian grain exporters, but at the same time it explores the ways of devising this union by means of principal redesigning of the current union of exporters of agriproducts, reported the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Patrushev on March 21.

“Now we are working with the main market players. We planned to create a new union, but still there are consultations underway whether to launch a new union or restructure the old one. The restructuring can be done all the way up to the replacement of founders and executive management” – said the minister.

Herewith, he noted that the ministry is ready to take into account all the interests of market participants concerning the principles of new union operations, “at the same time the union must cooperate with the Ministry of Agriculture and to take into account all the needs of the domestic market of grains”.

To recall, the idea to create new union of grain exporters in Russia was first expressed by D. Patrushev on Febryary 11. At that time, he also forecasted the finalization of the process until April.

At the same time, on March 20 the Deputy Minister of Ministry of Agriculture Oksana Lut declared that the ministry rejected the idea to create the separate union of grain exporters and planned to launch it on the basis of the currently in force National Association of Exporters of Agricultural Products.
