By April Russian grain export pace almost match last year’s

Since the start of 2018/19 MY (July 1) and as of April 2 Russia exported 31.9 mln tonnes of wheat (taking into account the shipping to the Customs Union countries), which is only 0.2% less compared to the same period last season, reported the press-service of the Federal State-Funded Institution «Federal Center of Quality and Safety Assurance for Grain and Grain products».

 Also, by the reporting date the country exported 3.9 mln tonnes of barley (-16% year-on-year), 2.1 mln tonnes of corn (-48%), 254 thsd tonnes of rye (5 times increase), 610 thsd tonnes of peas (-37%) and 561 thsd tonnes of wheat bran (-14%).

 The shipment of rapeseed since the beginning of the current season doubled and totaled 488 thsd tonnes, sunflower meal export grew 10% to 927 thsd tones. At the same time, the shipment of soybean declined by 26% to 621 thsd tonnes and linseed – by 19% to 339 thsd tonnes.

In general, from July 1 till April 2 of 2018/19 MY Russia exported 43.8 mln tonnes of grains and oilseeds and by-products, which is 6% higher (up 2.7 mln tonnes) compared to previous season.
