In February, Kazakhstan broke the record in vegetable oils exports

In February 2019, the exports of vegetable oils from Kazakhstan totaled 16.9 thsd tonnes, which became the historical monthly maximum figures in the whole contemporary history, reported the Customs Control Committee at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In particular, sunflower oil dominated in the shipment structure, which volumes reached 7.9 thsd tonnes (up 26% compared with the same month last year). China purchased more than half of the volumes (4.4 thsd tonnes). Also, Uzbekistan imported 25% of the volumes (1.9 thsd tonnes).

In February, the exports of rapeseed oil also updated its historical monthly maximum, and reached 4.9 thsd tonnes. China covered the main share of the shipment volumes — 3.7 thsd tonnes. Iran purchased the remaining volumes.

At the same time, the shipments of Kazakh flaxseed oil totaled 2.5 thsd tonnes, up 40% compared with the same month last year. Kazakhstan shipped the whole reporting volumes to China.

Generally, for the first half of 2018/19 MY (September-February) Kazakhstan exported 81.4 thsd tonnes of vegetable oils, up 10% compared with the same period last season.
