Ukraine sold the major volumes of soybeans to Turkey and Belarus — APK-Inform
According to APK-Inform figures, in February 2019 the exports of soybeans from Ukraine decreased by one third compared with the previous month, and down almost 40% compared with the last year level, and totaled 209 thsd tonnes.
In the first half of the season-2018/19, Ukraine shipped 1.22 mln tonnes of the oilseed on foreign markets, against 2 mln tonnes in the same period last season (down 39%), or 53% of the forecast for the whole 2018/19 MY. According to APK-Inform estimations, in the current season the exports of soybeans will reach the minimum level for 5 recent seasons — 2.3 mln tonnes.
In February, Ukrainian soybean supplies to Turkey decreased for the second running month, and totaled 106 thsd tonnes (down 27% compared with January). Also, the exports to Belarus still continued its downward trend. Nevertheless, since the beginning of the current season the reporting countries covered over 70% of soybean supplies from Ukraine.
