In January-March of 2019, Ukraine supplied 84.2 thsd tonnes of wheat flour on foreign markets, a decrease of 23% compared with the same period last year, or down 25.4 thsd tonnes (109.6 thsd tonnes in January-March of 2018), reported the analytical department of the Ukrainian Food Export Board (UFEB), referring to the figures of the State Statistics Service.

China (15.6% of the general export volumes), the United Arab Emirates (14.4%), and Singapore (12.2%) were the main buyers of the Ukrainian product.

According to the UFEB experts, last year Ukraine already demonstrated the downward trend in the domestic supply of flour — down 10% compared with 2017 (1.728 mln tonnes, against 1.923 mln tonnes), which affected the export figures. So, in 2018 the exports also decreased by 31% compared with 2017 (305.4 thsd tonnes, against 442.6 thsd tonnes).
