Russia: in January-April, the seaports shipped over 10 mln tonnes of grains — Association of Sea Commercial Ports




In January-April of 2019, the seaports of Russia increased the shipment volumes of grains by 43.1% compared with the same period last year — to 10.4 mln tonnes, announced the Association of Sea Commercial Ports of the Russian Federation on May 15.

In particular, the ports slightly decreased mineral fertilizers transshipment by 3.3% — to 5.8 mln tonnes.

For the first 4 months of 2019, the general cargo turnover in the Russian seaports grew by 2.4% compared with the same period in 2018, and totaled 269.3 mln tonnes.

According to the announcement, the export cargo shipment reached 211.2 mln tonnes, up 4.3% compared with January-April last year, imports — 12.2 mln tonnes (up 2.2%), transit — 21.4 mln tonnes (up 0.8%), coastal freight — 24.5 mln tonnes (down 10.5%).
