According to regional divisions of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor), since the beginning of the season-2018/19 (July 1), and as of June 18, Russia already exported 35 mln tonnes of wheat (including movements to the territory of the Customs Union countries), down 13% compared with the same period last season, reported the Federal State-Funded Institution "Federal Centre of Quality and Safety Assurance for Grain and Grain products" on June 21.
Also, in the reporting period Russia exported 4.6 mln tonnes of barley (down 24% compared with the same period of 2017/18 MY), 2.7 mln tonnes of corn (down 53%), 733 thsd tonnes of peas (down 47%), and 736 thsd tonnes of wheat bran (down 13%).
In addition, Russia demonstrated the high shipment rates of oilseeds and its by-products, compared with last year. Thus, in the period of July 1 - June 18 Russia exported 572 thsd tonnes of rapeseed (up 71%), 411 thsd tonnes of sunflower seed (up 3 times), and 1.2 mln tonnes of sunflower meal (up 23%). At the same time, the shipments of soybeans decreased to 751 thsd tonnes (down 25%), and flaxseed — 404 thsd tonnes (down 16%).
Generally, in the reporting period Russia supplied 49.8 mln tonnes of grains, oilseeds and its by-products on foreign markets, down 16% (or 9.7 mln tonnes) compared with the same period last season.
In the current season, the number of countries-importers of the products increased to 135, as opposed to 134 on the same date last year.
