Russia canceled the ban on the transit of goods of Ukrainian origin through its territory, which was in effect since 2016. It is provided by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation #290 "On amendments to some decrees of the President of the Russian Federation" dd. June 24, which text was published on the official web-portal for legal information.

The document imposed the additional clause to the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation #560 "On application of the certain special economic measures to ensure the economic security of the Russian Federation" dd. August 6, 2014: "Imports to the territory of the Russian Federation of the certain types of agricultural products, raw materials and food products shall be allowed in terms of the transit shipment of the products by motor and rail transport to the third countries, in accordance with the rules of carriage of such transport established by the Government of the Russian Federation".

At the same time, the Decree established the need to ensure the traceability of such shipments using the control system covering the usage of identification means (seals) and functioning on the basis of the GLONASS technology.

Also, the Government of the Russian Federation was charged to establish the procedure for the transit shipment of goods from the territory of Ukraine, and determine the border crossings for the operations.

The reporting Decree shall come into effect on July 1, 2019.
