In 2019/20 MY, Russia to export almost 44 mln tonnes of grains — Rusagrotrans




In 2019/20 MY (since July 1), Russia will be able to export nearly 43.9 mln tonnes of grains, including nearly 35.7 mln tonnes of wheat, 4.7 mln tonnes of barley, and 3.1 mln tonnes of corn. The reporting estimations are based on the current forecast of analysts of Rusagrotrans JSC on the general grain harvest in 2019 (124.2 mln tonnes, including 79.9 mln tonnes of wheat), reported the Head of the analytical center of Rusagrotrans JSC, Igor Pavensky on July 1.

Taking into account the supplies to the EAEU countries, in the current season the export shipments of Russian grains can reach 46.6 mln tonnes, the expert added.

At the same time, I.Pavensky said that the forecasted export figures exceed the results of 2018/19 MY, when Russia supplied nearly 42.1 mln tonnes of grains on foreign markets. It became the second largest result in the whole contemporary history, which comes second only to the level of 2017/18 MY (52.72 mln tonnes).

In particular, last season Russian exported 34.57 mln tonnes of wheat, 4.28 mln tonnes of barley, and 2.66 mln tonnes of corn.

Taking into account the supplies of grains to the EAEU countries, as well as the shipments of pulses and flour, the preliminary estimations of the general exports in the season-2018/19 total 44.74 mln tonnes, I.Pavensky said.
