According to APK-Inform analysts, in 2018/19 MY the domestic consumption of grains in Ukraine totaled nearly 21.3 mln tonnes, a decrease of 3% compared with the previous season, and down 16% compared with the average figures for 5 previous years.
The key factors influencing the current trend remained unchanged: decline of the country's population, stagnation in the export segment of flour, as well as uncertainty in the livestock segment, because the poultry farming continues developing only, while the cattle livestock still demonstrated the downward trend, explained the grain market analyst, Head of the information department at APK-Inform Agency, Andrei Kupchenko.
At the same time, in the new season the domestic consumption of grains in the country can reach 21.6 mln tonnes.
