As of August 12, Kazakh agrarians harvested grains and pulses throughout the areas of 818.1 thsd ha, against 756.7 thsd ha on the same date last year, reported the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
At the same time, the production volumes of grains totaled 1.661 mln tonnes (in 2018 — 1.378 mln tonnes), with the average yield of 2.03 t/ha (1.82 t/ha).
In particular, to date southern oblasts of the country already started harvesting grain crops. Jambyl oblast harvested the largest volumes of grains — 704.9 thsd tonnes throughout 93.3% of the planned areas, as well as Turkistan oblast — 413 thsd tonnes throughout 91.9% of the areas, and Almaty oblast — 351.4 thsd tonnes throughout 38% of the areas.
In addition, East Kazakhstan oblast harvested 90.8 thsd tonnes of grains throughout 8% of the areas, West Kazakhstan oblast — 86.2 thsd tonnes throughout 33.2% of the areas, and Kyzylorda oblast — 14.7 thsd tonnes throughout 8.7% of the areas.
