Ukraine is the key supplier of wheat flour to Lebanon. According to the International Trade Center figures, in 2018 Ukraine took the second position among the major countries-suppliers of the product to the country, with the shipment volumes at more than 4.6 thsd tonnes. At the same time, Turkey took the first position, and exported 19.7 thsd tonnes of flour to Lebanon.

In addition, the Netherlands, France and Germany are the main competitors of Ukraine in the supply of flour to Lebanon. But the price of the Ukrainian product is much more attractive. In particular, in 2018 the weighted average cost of flour supplied from Turkey to Lebanon varied at the level of 322 USD/t, while the figures for Ukrainian flour totaled 282 USD/t only.

According to APK-Inform analysts, in July 2019 Ukraine exported 475 tonnes of wheat flour to Lebanon, an increase of almost 3.5 times compared with the same month last year (137 tonnes).

Also, in 2018/19 MY (July-June) Lebanon entered the TOP-10 of countries-importers of Ukrainian flour, and purchased more than 5.7 thsd tonnes of the product (nearly 2% of the general supplies from Ukraine), up 36% compared with the previous season (4.2 thsd tonnes).
