For the first 2 months of the current season (July-August), Russia shipped 9.1 mln tonnes of grains on foreign markets, including 7.7 mln tonnes of wheat, declared the Head of the analytical center at Rusagrotrans JSC, Igor Pavensky on September 5.

The figures demonstrated the second largest results for the reporting period after the record results in July-August last season, when Russia exported 10.3 mln tonnes, including 8.7 mln tonnes of wheat, the expert added.

At the same time, the shipments in August exceeded the initial expectations (4.2 mln tonnes), and totaled nearly 4.4 mln tonnes. Rusagrotrans revised its estimations for July 2019 from 4.5 mln tonnes, to 4.7 mln tonnes.

In particular, in August 2019 Russia exported nearly 3.82 mln tonnes of wheat, nearly 0.4 mln tonnes of barley, and 0.15 mln tonnes of corn.

In September 2019, Russia will resume the growth of supplies to the level of July, due to lowering of the prices on the domestic market and weakening of the ruble exchange rates, I.Pavensky said.
