According to the updated estimations of APK-Inform analysts, in 2019/20 MY Ukraine will export the record volumes of wheat — at the level of 18.2 mln tonnes, an increase of almost 18% compared with the previous season (15.5 mln tonnes). The growth rates of the grain production by 11% — to 27.3 mln tonnes, as well as moderate rates of the domestic processing, will contribute to the corresponding increase in estimations of the export potential.
At the same time, the flour milling segment demonstrated the gradual recovery of production figures, after the significant downward trend in 2018/19 MY. In particular, for the first month of 2019/20 MY the large-scale enterprises of Ukraine produced 127.7 thsd tonnes of flour, up 5% compared with the same period last season. The upward trend develop, due to intensification of the export shipments, which volumes in July 2019 increased by 50% compared with the same figures in 2018/19 MY — to 25.3 thsd tonnes, against 16.8 thsd tonnes.
In terms of keeping of the reporting trends, APK-Inform analysts will increase the forecast of food consumption of wheat, which will form the additional domestic demand for the milling grain. In terms of September adjustment of the forecasted supply and demand balances, the food consumption of wheat in 2019/20 MY will reach 3.1 mln tonnes, up 1.5% compared with the record low figures of the season-2018/19.
