Russia harvested over 117 mln tonnes of grains — Ministry of Agriculture

As of October 14, Russian agrarians harvested grains and pulses throughout the areas of 43.7 mln ha (in 2018 — 42.6 mln ha), or 93.5% of the forecast. The production volumes reached 117.2 mln tonnes of grains (in 2018 — 108.7 mln tonnes), with the average yield of 2.68 t/ha (in 2018 — 2.55 t/ha), declared the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation on October 15.

In particular, agrarians harvested 77.2 mln tonnes of wheat throughout 27.4 mln ha (97.6%), with the yield of 2.82 t/ha. Also, Russia harvested 21.4 mln tonnes of barley throughout 8.5 mln ha (96.1%), with the yield of 2.52 t/ha.

Russian agrarians harvested corn for grain throughout 1.2 mln ha, or 46.6% of the forecast. The production volumes totaled 6.9 mln tonnes, with the yield of 5.75 t/ha. Agrarians continued harvesting rice, and already produced 821.1 thsd tonnes of the grain. The harvested areas reached 123.9 thsd ha (63.9%), with the yield at 6.63 t/ha.

At the same time, agrarians already harvested sunflower seed throughout 5 mln ha (58.6%), and produced 9.7 mln tonnes of the oilseed, with the average yield at 1.95 t/ha.

Agrarians continued harvesting rapeseed, and as of October 14 the areas reached 1.3 mln ha (83.2%). The production volumes reached 2 mln tonnes, with the yield of 1.57 t/ha.

In addition, Russia harvested soybeans throughout 1.9 mln ha (61%), and produced 3.3 mln tonnes of the oilseed, with the yield of 1.8 t/ha.

At the same time, Russian agrarians harvested 30 mln tonnes of sugar beet throughout 682 thsd ha (59.6%), with the yield of 44.04 t/ha.

As of the reporting date, Russia already planted winter crops for the harvest-2020 throughout 15.8 mln ha, or 90.5% of the forecast.
