As of October 23, agrarians of Kyrgyzstan harvested grain crops (without corn, rice and buckwheat) throughout the areas of 548.6 thsd ha, which almost met the figures on the same date last year (548.1 thsd ha), reported the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic (KyrStat) on October 25.
At the same time, the production volumes of grains totaled nearly 1.814 mln tonnes in bunker weight, up 1.5% compared with last year (in 2018 — 1.787 mln tonnes). The average yield of grain crops in the country totaled 3.31 t/ha, up 0.15 t/ha.
In particular, as of the reporting date the harvest volumes of wheat in Kyrgyzstan decreased by 4.4% — to 636.6 thsd tonnes, against 665.7 thsd tonnes in 2018. Also, barley production increased by 6.8% — to 494.5 thsd tonnes, against 463.2 thsd tonnes.
In addition, Kyrgyzstan harvested 113.7 thsd tonnes of pulses, against 111.9 thsd tonnes last year.
At the same time, the production of oilseeds in the country reached 31.9 thsd tonnes, down 11.9% compared with the last year level, KyrStat noted.
