For the first 9 months of 2019, Kazakhstan supplied 3.8 mln tonnes of wheat and meslin on foreign markets, a decrease of 11% compared with the same period last year, reported the Statistics Committee at the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In particular, the general cost of the exported grain volumes for the reporting period totaled 711.1 mln USD.

In the current year, Uzbekistan (1.6 mln tonnes) and Tajikistan (710.7 thsd tonnes) became the main countries-importers of Kazakh wheat. Also, the significant volumes were shipped to China (293.8 thsd tonnes), Azerbaijan (234.1 thsd tonnes), and Turkmenistan (180.4 thsd tonnes). In addition, Kazakhstan supplied wheat to Turkey (162.5 thsd tonnes), Afghanistan (147.1 thsd tonnes), Italy (117.4 thsd tonnes), and Russia (107.6 thsd tonnes).

As for the exports of flour, for January-September of 2019 the foreign shipments totaled a little more than 1 mln tonnes, down 34.3% compared with the same period last year. In the reporting period, Afghanistan (614.3 thsd tonnes) and Uzbekistan (263.2 thsd tonnes) were the main buyers of the Kazakh product.
