Ukraine: in the last week of November, the seaports insignificantly increased grain shipment volumes




According to the weekly monitoring reports by APK-Inform Agency, in the period of November 23-29, 2019, the seaports of Ukraine insignificantly increased the export volumes of major grain crops. Thus, in the reporting period the seaports shipped for exports 1.24 mln tonnes of grains, up 7% from the previous week (1.17 mln tonnes, taking into account the updated figures).

In particular, in the reporting period the shipments of wheat increased by 32% — to 343 thsd tonnes, as opposed to 259 thsd tonnes in the previous week. At the same time, corn exports increased by 5% — to 857 thsd tonnes, while the supplies of barley declined 2 times — to 41 thsd tonnes.

In the reporting week, China (257 thsd tonnes), Spain (207 thsd tonnes), and Iran (93 thsd tonnes) were the TOP-3 of export destinations for Ukrainian grain supplies.

It should be noted that since the beginning of the new current marketing season (July 1), Sea Commercial Port of Mykolaiv (8.67 mln tonnes) still remained the leader in the exports of major grain crops. Sea Commercial Port of Pivdennyj (4.87 mln tonnes) and Commercial Sea Port of Chornomorsk (4.75 mln tonnes) took the second and third positions, respectively.
