Russia: Ministry of Agriculture specified the price levels for intervention purchases of grains in 2020

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation specified the critical levels of the maximum prices for grains in 2020, for beginning of the public purchasing interventions in the country. The official governmental portal of projects of regulatory legal acts published the corresponding decree, developed by the Ministry.

In particular, in the Central, Northwestern and Southern Federal Districts the reporting price of 3-grade wheat was proposed to set at the level of 13`462 RUR/t (hereinafter, including VAT), the North Caucasian District — 16`467 RUR/t, the Volga District — 10`816 RUR/t, the Ural District — 12`538 RUR/t, the Siberian and Far Eastern Districts — 10`278 RUR/t.

In the Central, Northwestern and Southern Federal Districts the maximum price of 4-grade wheat was proposed at the level of 12`239 RUR/t, the North Caucasian District — 15`132 RUR/t, the Volga District — 9`558 RUR/t, the Ural District — 11`101 RUR/t, the Siberian and Far Eastern Districts — 9`667 RUR/t.

As for 5-grade wheat, the reporting level in the Central, Northwestern and Southern Federal Districts was proposed at 10'019 RUR/t, the North Caucasian District — 12'271 RUR/t, the Volga District — 8'089 RUR/t, the Ural District — 8`949 RUR/t, the Siberian and Far Eastern Districts — 8`422 RUR/t.

As for barley, the maximum price level was proposed within the range of 7`631-13`151 RUR/t depending on the region, rye — 6`673-8`790 RUR/t, and corn — 9`467-12`092 RUR/t.

As a reminder, in 2018-2019 the Russian authorities did not purchase grain crops to the public intervention fund.
