In 2019, the traffic volumes of grains and its by-products by rail in Ukraine increased by 21% compared with the previous year, and totaled 39.8 mln tonnes, reported the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
As for the transportation volumes of chemical and mineral fertilizers, in the reporting period the figures increased by 31.5% — to 4.4 mln tonnes.
Generally, in 2019 the Ukrainian Railway (JSC Ukrzaliznytsia) transported 312.9 mln tonnes of all types of cargoes, down 2.9% compared with the previous year.
